Dear Friends and Friends of Friends -
Years ago, and still, I thought two of the greatest words in the language were those I say to you now: "Happy July!"
As you're heading out on the train for the long weekend, or relaxing around the pool, or lake or beach or rooftop over the next few days, here's a little gem to help pass the time;
The Making of a New Yorker, by O.Henry, originally published in 1905 in, believe it or not,
The Chicago Tribune.
This morning was the first time I'd ever seen this particular story. It's over a hundred years old, but O.Henry's still got the essential character of this great city we love (and I get to make my living on) nailed: Its imperturbable, impenetrable energy, suffused with rough compassion. Enjoy!
And if you'd like any information or assistance about owning a part of this great city, please call me after the weekend.
Have a great summer!
Jay
